Can i host multiple domains on a single hosting account? hosting multiple websites on your hosting account is possible but the web hosting provider you choose is very vital. You have to look for a web hosting provider that will provide you enough server resources (CPU and memory allotments, Bandwidth, Disk Space and more) to run your website or else your endeavors might just turn into a nightmare. All you have to do is add as many Addon Domains to your account so long as you fall within the limit.
Before we proceed, i assume you already know what addon domains are, already know it’s pros and cons. If you don’t know much about addon domains then i suggest you first read this post before continuing with this one.
Best Web Hosting for Addon Domains
When i talk about the best web hosting providers for Addon Domains, i refer to the providers that will give you enough resources for less to run your website. These providers have usually apportion you a good percentage of memory that will enable you run your websites smoothly.
1 – BlueHost
BlueHost provides one of the best web hosting for multiple domains. Currently they have three shared web hosting packages: basic, plus and pro. Their basic package that costs $3.49 / month doesn’t let you add addon domains to your hosting account. Their plus and pro plans will let you add as many addon domains as you want depending on the performance of your account. The plus and pro plans cost $5.95 and $13.95 monthly respectively. They entitle you to unlimited disk storage and bandwidth but i prefer the pro plan to the plus plan in terms of performance. The Pro plan entitles you to high performance and unlimited Addon domains where as the plus plan entitles you to a standard performance.
2 – HostGator
HostGator also provides one of the best hosting for multiple domains. They are probably one of the cheapest web hosting in the world. Despite being inexpensive, their services are exceptional as well. HostGator will provide you enough resources to run addon domains on your web hosting account. They currently have three shared web hosting plans: The Hatchling Plan ($3.95/mo), The Baby Plan ($5.95/mo) and The Business Plan ($5.95/mo). The Business Plan is the best and will let you host unlimited addon domains on your account just like the Baby Plan. The Hatchling plan only lets you host one domain on a your account.
3 – GreenGeeks
If you fail to settle for the two web hosting providers above then i suggest giving GreenGeeks a shot. Their shared hosting plans start from $3.96 / month for a package with very good performance and entitles you to unlimited domains hosting. The good thing with GreenGeeks is their cheapest shared hosting plan lets you add addon domains to your account unlike the two providers above.
4 – DreamHost
DreamHost has been ranked several times among the best web hosting providers in the world by PC Mag and there is a big reason behind their recognition. I personally don’t host any of my websites on DreamHost but i have heard only good about them. Their shared hosting plans begin from $7.95 per month for an unlimited package. The same package lets you host as many addon domains on your account as you can and you are guaranteed of a good performance.
5 – JustHost
I host most of my websites on JustHost and i haven’t had any problem with them. Most of my accounts run up to 5 websites and the performance is just good. Similar to BlueHost, the cheapest shared hosting plan of JustHost (Basic: $3.95/Month) won’t let you add addon domains to your account but their Plus and Pro plans will let you add addon domains to your account. The Plus plan costs $6.95 / Month and will let you add up to 10 addon domains on your account where as the Pro plan that costs $14.95 / Month will let you add unlimited addon domains to your account.
It’s good to begin with shared web hosting plans but i strongly recommend virtual private server (VPS) hosting if you plan to add many addon domains to a hosting account. One other thing you should also know is all the web hosting providers above have a money-back guarantee period that lets you request for a refund if you are not satisfied with their services. If you are simply not satisfied with the resources they have offered you then you can request for a refund and try another web hosting provider.
