Make Money without Adsense

The best way to Make Money without Adsense

Google Adsense is probably the best way to begin monetizing your website if you are a newbie to blogging but question is, is Adsense the best way to monetize a blog? I believe you have encountered blogs that look plain like they have no ads but truth is they do. Most pro bloggers nowadays mainly use affiliate marketing to monetize their blogs and the results are great. Affiliate marketing is undoubtedly the best way to Make Money without Adsense. I would definitely go for it any day.

When i first got into blogging i thought of Adsense as the only way to make money from my blog despite the fact that i had no premium banner. Right now as am talking Adsense is actually a secondary source of income to me, Affiliate Marketing has taken the top spot because it brings in more money than Adsense does.

Unlike Adsense where users click on Ads and you receive a Pay Per Click, for affiliate marketing you have to let a user sign up through your affiliate link if you are to earn a commission. I am going to illustrate two scenarios here showing the potential earnings from Adsense and Affiliate Marketing from a certain amount of traffic and clicks.

Suppose 200 people click on your Adsense ads at an average CPC of $0.10, you would potentially earn 200 clicks x $0.10 = $20. Now imagine the same number of people clicked on an affiliate link of a product that commissions $65 and just 10 of them went ahead to buy the product, that would probably be $650 for you. With the difference in earnings from both schemes, which option would you opt for? Everyone would probably want to opt for affiliate marketing. It’s not as easy as it looks but the secret all lies in the amount of traffic you receive on your blog. The more traffic you get, the more you are likely to make more affiliate sales on your blog.

Benefits of Affiliate Marketing over Adsense

You might feel great seeing Google Ads on your website but not everyone does. Some people get annoyed by seeing Ads on a blog especially in cases where your content is substandard which is not the case with Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate links can be added in posts and your web pages will still look neat despite the fact that your content is monetized. This way you’ll maintain an ads-free look on your blog.

Another benefit of course is what we talked about earlier, the difference in earnings. There’s really no point of losing a visitor for just 10 or 15 cents unless the return is worth it. Unlike Adsense, for Affiliate Marketing you recommend a product implicating even if a visitor clicks on a link and fails to make a purchase he will probably gain trust in your blog. If they make any purchase then the better.

I’m not going to list all the benefits of Affiliate Marketing over Adsense on this post because i intend to keep it brief. I will definitely write a separate detailed article on making a living out of Affiliate Marketing.

How to make Affiliate sales on your Blog

The best way to make affiliate sales on a blog is to review products. Choose a product you wish to promote, write a review about it, drive traffic to the post and make sales. When writing a review make sure you follow the format below:

  • Introduce the product you wish to promote
  • Introduce the manufacturer / company behind it
  • Write a Description about it
  • Share it’s Pros
  • Share it’s Cons
  • Provide a recommendation
  • Provide a call to action

What you should also know is reviews don’t end in written form, you could also do video reviews and upload the videos on YouTube. YouTube is currently the second most viewed website in the world making it a great platform to upload your reviews to. Before you jump into reviewing products, make sure you only review products you have used. Provide screenshots if possible to prove to your readers that you have used the product before and believe me, this way you should be able to make a lot of sales supposing you drive traffic to the web page.

I have used Adsense for a couple of years but it’s total income is not any closer to the money i have made from Affiliate Marketing. If you are new into blogging and wish to give Affiliate Marketing a shot then i suggest you take the shortcut. Just write good content, write good product reviews, maintain a quality blog, gather readers on your blog and within no time you should start to make affiliate sales on your site. It might sound hard but the more you hang in there and always keep up with successful bloggers, your knowledge will keep growing with time.
